Learn from our president, Beth Dudley Yurkovich MS, MPH, CGC, CGAF about the importance of this partnership with Fight CRC.

"CGA-IGC's partnership with FightCRC is so energizing, especially with the flurry of activities that happen during Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.  As both organizations celebrate milestone anniversaries this year—30 years for CGA and 20 years for FightCRC—we acknowledge the past achievements of each group and look forward to moving ahead together towards our shared goals of early detection and prevention, better treatments, and improved outcomes for colorectal cancer."

See below how you can participate this March during #ColorectalCancerAwarenessMonth!

The #StrongArmSelfie is an easy and fun way to show your support for colorectal cancer survivors and their families.  Take a picture of yourself (or your team at work!) doing a strong-arm selfie.  Be sure to dress in blue or a CGA-IGC shirt, and post it with the hashtag #StrongArmSelfie on Twitter, Bluesky, LinkedIn and/or Instagram, and tag @FightCRC to help support their initiative. For every post, $1 is donated to the fight!

Blue Flags Initiative.  March 2025 marks FightCRC’s 20th anniversary of raising awareness as a community and advocating for more research, treatment options and funding in the fight against colorectal cancer.  Our president, Beth Yurkovich Dudley, MS, CGC, MHP, CGAF and president elect, Elena Levinson, MS, MPH, CGC, will be in Washington DC on Sunday, March 9 for the United in Blue Volunteer Day.  Volunteers will place 27,400 blue flags on the National Mall, representing the number of individuals under the age of 50 projected to be diagnosed with colon cancer in 2030.  Bryson Katona, MD, PhD, CGAF, CGA-IGC 2024 president, will then be participating in the United in Blue Rally on March 10, as well as in a panel discussion on March 11.

We are encouraging CGA-IGC members to support this effort across the country by placing blue flags in their yards throughout the month of March.  Be sure to take a picture and post it with the hashtag #PrioritizeCRC and tag @FightCRC.  There are a number of cheap options on Amazon for those who are interestedclick HERE
